Kids on Campus Tech Innovators Camp provides an exciting opportunity for young minds to explore the world of technology through hands-on activities and project-based learning. Campers will dive into coding, robotics, and digital design, developing their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The camp fosters creativity and teamwork through interactive workshops and challenges, where campers will build their own tech projects and learn new programming languages. Campers will also experience a Thursday field trip to a local tech hub, where they can explore cutting-edge innovations and meet industry professionals.
Kids on Campus is a summer camp program offered on campus for school-age children. Weekly fun-filled themed programming is offered with a field trip a the end of the week. Campers will divide into small groups by age, participating in age-appropriate activities. Breakfast is provided by Catholic Charities and lunch is served by Kansas City Kansas Community College and the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS - USD500) through the Kansas Summer Food Service Program, this institution is an equal opportunity provider.
Campers must wear comfortable appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes to participate in various camp activities and field trips. Campers must be signed in at drop-off between 8:45 and 9:00 am and signed out at pick-up between 3:20 and 3:30 pm at KCKCC's Performing Arts Center. Adults must present their ID at pick-up and campers will only be released to those listed on the authorized pick-up list. Water bottles are provided to campers and drinking is encouraged by camp counselors throughout the day. Sunscreen is available in the staff’s first aid kits and campers are asked to re-apply multiple times a day during sun exposure. Kids on campus will promote physical movement, social interaction, educational opportunities, leadership building, personal growth, and creativity.
Eligibility Requirements
Campers must be entering first grade through 10th grade (6 - 15 years old) for the following school year.
- One registration per camp participant must be completed for each attending year of Kids on Campus. Community registrations will only be completed once enrollment is complete and payment is processed.
- Health information provided in the registration form will be reviewed. The college nurse will determine if a Health Screen for camp participation is required.
- If a Health Screen is required, parents or guardians will be notified, and Health Screens will take place at Sign In on the first attending day of camp.
